Start your own
Shape Shifters Group™
or find an existing group near you!
Thanks for your interest
in Shape Shifters group meetings. Discussing this process
with like-minded people really helps you to stay on track. That's
why Lisa started Shape Shifters Groups. If you'd like to
start up a group in your area, let us know and we'll help you get it
off the ground. After all, we can't spread this message without you.
Or, if you're looking
for a group near you, let us know where you're located and we will
hook you up with anyone else in your area who is either active in a
group or looking for others with whom to start one.
What is a Shape Shifters Group?
This
is the most fun you’ll ever have reclaiming your perfect body.
You’ll walk out of a Shape Shifters meeting feeling pumped up,
motivated and ready to take on another week. The best way to do that
is to focus on the positive. You are encouraged to share your
success stories and to act as cheerleaders for each other.
The
Shape Shifting process is broken down into four basic
components: Challenges, Makeovers, Triumphs and
Intentions, which are logged every week in a notebook,
journal or your Shape Shifters Workbook.
-
Challenges—things we’d like to change
-
Makeovers—little things we do to make ourselves feel or look better
-
Triumphs—positive results we’ve seen from last week’s Challenges
-
Intentions—positive
statements of intent to conquer this week’s Challenges
Here's how it works: Shape
Shifting--reclaiming your perfect body is required reading. You'll
understand why, once you start working with a group, because it's
really hard to explain to someone who just shows up and hasn't read
it. However, as you may
already know, Lisa only asks people who
can afford to buy the book to actually pay for it.
Shape Shifters is
not about making money, so meetings must be free. The only costs
that might be involved would be a collection that the group leader
may choose to take up to help pay for things like listings on
Meetup.com, or room rental for a meeting space. In other words, no
monies are required to be sent to Shape Shifters and no
profit is to be made by group leaders.
Tell your friends
about the book and gather a few people who are interested in doing
this together, or advertise in your local New Age or entertainment
magazine, hang a flyer in your local New Age and health food stores,
etc. List your group meeting on Craigslist,
MySpace, Meetup,
or any other places that allow this type of listing.
Find a place to
meet: someone's house, a community rec room, or see if your
Unitarian Universalist or Unity Church has a space you can use. Even
your public library will sometimes have space to use for a
non-profit, book study group (another reason to keep the meetings
free!).
If you're having a hard
time getting people to sit down and read the book (people's lives
are so busy these days!), direct them to this
article that explains the very basics of the Shape Shifting
process, so they can see if it would be something that might
interest them.
Everyone needs a copy of
the Workbook, which can be purchased here
(or see below about a free copy).
How to use the Workbook is explained within.
The ideal group size is
6-10 people, but you can certainly start a group with only two if
that's the way it feels best to you. It will grow as you become more
confident and feel comfortable inviting others to join. The length
of the meeting should allow enough time for everyone to have about
10 minutes or so to speak. Therefore, a six-person meeting should be
about 90 minutes long, to allow enough time to settle in and wrap
up, in addition to everyone's 10 minutes.
If your group is growing
too large to allow for a 90 minute meeting, then split into two
smaller groups. You can still use the same space, if desired, just
form two circles. Much more information is available in the Shape
Shifters Workbook.
You are also welcome to
call in to Lisa's radio show to share your Shape
Shifters success stories or to ask questions!
These are the basics on
how to start your own Shape Shifters Group. If you have any
questions at all, please don't be afraid to ask!
It's what we're here for!
* Anyone
who truly can't afford the purchase (not someone who just
doesn't feel like paying for a book), and asks for a free ebook can
have one, in exchange for a promise to perform a random act of
kindness. Same with the Workbook. Some
people ask why Lisa does it this way. They wonder if she won't be
scammed by someone who actually has enough money to buy a book, but
just wants to get one free because they can. Lisa answers, if
someone feels they have to "scam" her to get a book, then
they live within poverty consciousness and could probably use a
lesson in energy exchange. Besides, folks who really do need the
information but feel bad about asking for something free will feel
good about doing something that feels good in exchange. It's a
powerful first step in understanding abundance consciousness.
